CONSIDER AND ACT: on Renewal of Property, Liability and Worker's Compensation Coverages with Texas Municipal League Inter-Governmental Risk Pool

BACKGROUND:
The Property, Casualty & Liability Insurance Committee met recently to consider the renewal proposal from Texas Municipal League Inter-Governmental Risk Pool for Property, Liability and Worker's compensation coverages. As a result of that meeting, an analysis was conducted by Chairman Frank Swingle to determine if the Worker's Compensation deductible should be changed. The analysis indicated that the City should lower the Worker's Compensation deductible from $150,000 to $100,000. The committee recommends this as part of the renewal of the insurance coverages in the amount of $215,452. Funds have been budgeted in the Self-Insurance Fund.
