CONSIDER AND ACT: on Approval of the Race JUDICATA 5K Run Benefiting the American Cancer Society

BACKGROUND:
Race JUDICATA is a 5K race put on by the SMU Law School. Law school students will mark the route with human signposts, particpate in the run, and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
The route is situated on the campus of Southern Methodist University, as well as residential streets through University Park. Saturday, October 3rd is the requested date for the race. The start time is 9:00 am and the finish is anticipated to be 10:00 am.
The Police Department has approved the route; and due to the day of the week and time, no traffic related issues are anticipated.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends allowing the request for this run.
