An election of members to the Board of Directors of the Dallas Central Appraisal District is conducted in odd-numbered years. The term of office is two years beginning January 2010. By special provision of the Property Tax Code, each of the incorporated cities, except the City of Dallas, shall have the right to nominate and vote by resolution for one (1) candidate as the fourth member of the Board of Directors from the nominations received.

There was only one nomination received by DCAD for the current member position.  This nominee is Mr. Michael Hurtt.  Mr. Hurtt was nominated by the cities of DeSoto and Sachse and was a former Mayor of the City of DeSoto.
