CONSIDER AND ACT: on Renewal of Third-Party Claims Administration Services and Specific and Aggregate Stop Loss Coverage with CIGNA for the City's Self-Insured Employee Health Plan

BACKGROUND:
On October 23, 2009, the Employee Benefits Committee met to consider proposals for renewal of third-party claims administration and specific and aggregate stop loss coverages for the City's self-insured employee health plan. The committee voted unanimously to recommend renewing these services and coverages with CIGNA, the City's current carrier, in the amount of $446,890. Funds are available in the Self-Insurance Fund.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff and the Employee Benefits Committee recommend approval.
